Danny Cross

Burlington-Danny Crawford Cross, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of 45 years to Joyce Hall Cross who survives.
Danny retired from Elon University and was a member of Shallow Ford Christian Church. He was an avid Duke fan and a faithful Christian. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce H. Cross of the home; daughters, Robin Isley and husband, Robert of Elon and Tammy Combs and husband, Josh of Siler City; grandchildren, Brock Wicker, Jordon Wicker, Trey Dickerson, Seth Dickerson, Breanna Dickerson, Sierra Dickerson and Addison Combs; great granddaughter, Hanna Wicker; sister, Lois Talley and husband, Bobby of Mebane and Mary Ellen Tatum of Mebane. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Todd Cross; parents, James and Mattie Faye Andrews Cross and a sister, Vickie Davis Langley.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Steve Regan and assisted by George Nall. The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:45-12:45 pm prior to the service on Saturday and other times at the home.
