Daniel Toney, Sr.

Daniel David Toney, Sr. age 81, of Central Ave. passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at White Oak Manor. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Dorothy Hawk Toney and son of the late Robey Aldean and Bessie Mae Almond Toney. He was retired from West Point Stevens and an Army Veteran. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hawk Toney of the home; daughter, Tyra Toney Mann and husband Dennis Mann; sons, David Toney, Jr., Ronnie Toney and Jerry Toney all Burlington and Jan Toney of Mebane; Brother, Edward Toney of Burlington; sisters, Peggy Massey of Burlington, Betty Bennette of Virginia and Edith Milsap of Haw River; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arthur Toney, Aldene Toney and Ernest Toney and sisters, Clara Beam and Naomi Wade. Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm on Sunday, April 6, 2014 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ken Jackson. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Mr. Toney will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 2-3:45 pm, prior to the funeral service and at his home at other times.
