Dan Miller, Sr.

Dan ONeil Miller, Sr., 93, passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 at the Hospice Home. He was born in Union, SC to the late Rufus Holland Miller and the late Frances Troy Fouller Miller and was the husband to Vera Winona McMahan Miller for 64 years who survives. Dan retired from Western Electric. He graduated from Clemson University, a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, a member of the Masonic Bula Lodge #409 and was a US Navy veteran of WWII. Survivors other than his wife, Vera include his daughter and son-in-law, Sara Frances and Kenneth Babcock; sons and daughters-in-law, Dan ONeil and Cathy Miller, Jr., James Henry and Cindy Miller; grandchildren, Trudy Shields, Richard Babcock, Jennifer Miller, Nicholas Miller, Robert Marsh, Crystal Ball; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers. The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church by Rev. Miriam Saxon with a Masonic graveside service to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
