Dallas Anderson, Jr.

Dallas Malone Anderson, Jr. died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 after a ten year battle with COPD. He was born February 14, 1935 and was a lifelong resident of Alamance County. Malone was the son of Dallas and Marion Walker Anderson and Edith Anderson, all deceased. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nina Alcon Anderson; sisters, Lib Donald Smith, Ida Em Anderson and Sarah Jane Ron Wrightenberry, all of Burlington and several nieces and nephews. He graduated from Pleasant Grove School, served in the U.S. Army but had to return home to farm with his father. He worked at Sandy Cross Service Station and Melville Chevrolet and retired after 34 years at Craftique Furniture. The funeral service will be conducted at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church in Mebane, where he was a member, Friday, June 21, 2013 at 12 noon by Rev. Matt Randolph and Rev. Tempe Fussell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Thursday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence. The family request that Malone's classmates at Pleasant Grove School serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215 or to Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 3302 North NC Hwy 119, Mebane, NC 27302. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Hospice Center for their support and especially to Robin, Dale and Michelle for their special care given to Mr. Anderson during his illness.
