Dalia Travis

Dalia Mae Welch Travis, 82, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the Hospice Home of Burlington. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of the late Clarence Olan Welch, Sr. and Lena Fisher Welch.
Dalia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and working outside in her flower garden in her spare time. She also had an unwavering faith in God and was a devoted Baptist.
Dalia is survived by her sons, Henry Lea Atkins and Timothy Ward and a daughter, Angela Ward Steen; grandchildren, April Atkins, Jennifer Brucato, Staci Kimball, Jeffrey Gainey and Missy Rice; great grandchildren, Joseph Atkins, Robert Fowler, Patrick Ward, Alex Brucato, Giulianna Brucato, and Riley Smith; brothers, Clarence Olan Welch, Jr. and Carl Welch; sister, Lynnette Baxter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alton Rimmer (Runt); son, Jeffrey Kimball; parents and sisters, Pauline Hurley and Sylvia Welch.
The funeral will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday August 8th at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Darrell Massey.
The family will receive friends 9:30 - 10:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell for the extraordinary kindness and compassion shown to Dalia and her family.
