Dale Proffit

Burlington- Dale Leon Proffit, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 26, 2020. He was a native of Watauga County and the husband of 48 years to Linda Campbell Proffit who survives. Dale was the son of the late Dayton William and Dorothy Pearl Miller Proffit

Dale was the owner of Proffit Brick and Stone Works. He was a member of Trinity Worship Center where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and on the Building Committee. Dale was a member of the Masonry Association. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Campbell Proffit of the home; daughter, Stephanie Hensley and husband, Shane of Graham; sons, Brad Proffit of Burlington; grandchildren, Makenzie, Lauren, Addison, Christopher and Jessica Hensley; sisters, Wilma Proffit of Burlington and Donna Miller and husband, John of Boone; brother, Dayton William “Bill” Proffit and wife, Lisa of Burlington.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Miller and Staff of Kernodle Clinic for caring for Dale during his Parkinson’s Disease.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 2:00pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Roger Barefoot. The burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Elon. Dale will be availible for viewing from 1-5pm on Monday and up to the time of the service. The service will be live streamed on our website below.
