Burlington - Dace William McAdams, 87, of 3117 B Commerce Place formerly of Veterans Drive in Elon passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Tuesday September 12, 2006. He was the husband of the late Margie Benintendi McAdams for 63 years and the son of the late Moreland Jackson McAdams, Sr. and the late Lula Staley McAdams. He was a native of Alamance County, retired from the Elon Police Department, and was a member of Christian Bible Fellowship where he belonged to the Golden Believers. Dace was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. Survivors include a daughter, Jerri Belcher and her husband Larry of Graham; son, Rick McAdams and his wife Nancy of Gibsonville; adopted daughter, Bonnie Wheeler of Burlington; grandchildren, Mike and Paula McAdams of Gibsonville, David and Donna McAdams of Badin Lake, Laurel and Chuck Gantos of Gibsonville, Melinda and Jason Ramsey of Burlington; great grandchildren, Mikaela McAdams, Taylor Emory, C.J. Gantos, Cody Gantos, Dustin and Dillon Gantos, Savana Gantos, Seth Harris, Camden Ramsey, Cricket McAdams; brother-in-law, Bob Benintendi and his wife Barbara of Springfield, MO, and a nephew, Bobby Webster of Elon. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three sisters and four brothers. The funeral will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bruce Readling and Dr. Tommy Willis. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the sons home, Rick McAdams, 535 W.
