Cyrus Ervin Lewis, Jr., 72, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Alamance Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. A native of Alamance County, he was born June 29, 1949 to the late Cyrus Ervin Lewis, Sr. and Edith Faucette Lewis and was the husband of 13 years to Shirley Mashburn Lewis of the home.
Ervin was a lifetime member of Shiloh United Methodist Church (Shiloh Community Church) where he was the chairman of the finance committee, on the cemetery committee and a trustee. He was a member of the Alamance County and Guilford County farm clubs and IH tractor club. Ervin was a delegate and board member for the NC Corn Growers Association. Ervin was a farmer and loved the land and animals that God entrusted to his care. He was a fifth-generation farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; son, Edward Lee Lewis (Amber); stepdaughter, Lisa Ann Skinner and fiancé Darren McCool; step-sons, David O’Neal Mabry, Jacob O’Neal Redell (Jennifer); step-grandchildren, Bradley Barnes (Alicia), Kayla Eggers (Brandon), Lauren Novak (Trevor), Delayne Redell and Nolan Redell; step-great grandchildren, Mallory Eggers, Emma Grace Eggers, Harper Barnes, Aria Novak and Carson Novak.
The funeral service will be held 2:00pm on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Shiloh Community Church by Pastor Scott Reavis with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.
