Cynthia Smith

Cynthia Gibson "Cyndi" Smith, 49, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter to the late Dallie Lee "Babe" Foster and Fredda Mae Wicker Foster who survives and was the wife of 18 years to David Randall Smith who survives. Cyndi was a self-employed farmer and a former restaurant manager. She was on the board of directors with the Alamance County Farm Bureau Board and she attended Rock Creek United Methodist Church. Survivors other than her husband, Randall and her mother, Fredda include her children, Dustin Quinn Pennington, Kristin Carter and husband, Jason and Grayson David Smith; grandchildren, Landon Blake Carter and Easton Lane Carter; sisters, Rhonda Evans, Cathy Benes and Ginny Foster; sister-in-law, Derinda Smith and husband, Randy; 2 nieces and 2 nephews. The funeral service will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Amanda Dixson. There will be a private burial at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home. The family would like to say "Thank You" to Friendship UMC and Rock Creek UMC, Dr. Janak Choksi and his nurses and staff for all their loving support and compassion that was shown to Cyndi during her illness. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the ARMC Charitable Foundation, 1240 Huffman Mill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
