Corinne Barton

Corinne Latta Barton passed away at home on August 1, 2021.  She was the wife of the late Thomas Holt Barton, and the daughter of William Caleb Latta and Pearl Smith Latta.  She lived almost her entire life in Burlington, and at the age of 12 came to know the Lord on June 19, 1937.  She was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church for over 84 years.  She retired from Western Electric/ AT&T after 35 years of service.

She is survived by two sons, Phillip Thomas Barton (Donna) and Jeffrey William Barton, three grandchildren; Kristina Lea Barton, Corey Holt Barton (Christy) and Ashley Claire Barton, four great grandchildren: Jorden, Zayden, Kolden and Cash.  She was preceded in death by a brother; William Caleb Latta, Jr. (Dorothy) and a sister; Mary Virginia Latta Brown (Thomas).

A special thank you to two sweet and caring caregivers; Christine and Ashley for taking special care of her this past month.  Much gratitude for Authoracare/Hospice with their loving and gentle care the last two weeks.

The funeral service will be conducted at Glen Hope Baptist Church at 12:00 PM Friday, August 6, 2021 by Pastor Fred Treadwell and Pastor Eddy Barton.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 – 12:00 prior to the service and the church.  The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
