Connie Beckom Woody

Connie Beckom Woody, a beloved mother, daughter, and friend left this world on September 16, 2024, at the age of 58. Born on August 20, 1966, in Alamance County to Conard Wells Beckom and Laura Leath Roney.  Her spirit was vibrant, and her love for her family and friends resonated in all she did.

A proud alumnus of North Carolina State University, Connie carried with her the values of hard work and determination, fostering a deep appreciation for education. But more than academic accomplishments, it was her role as a devoted mother that defined her life. She found immense joy in attending all types of ball games, particularly when her daughter, Kolbe was playing. With every cheer and clap, Connie infused each moment with an unwavering support that only a mother can provide. Her passion for sports extended beyond her family; she made significant contributions to the community as well. It was with great honor that Connie was inducted into the Western Alamance Sports Hall of Fame, a testament to her love for athletics and the impact she made in that realm. Connie found profound happiness going to the coast, being surrounded by family, often reflecting on the cherished memories created over the years. 

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth (Ken) Woody; daughter, Kolbe Wilson and husband Christian; mother, Laura Roney; brother, Michael Beckom; niece Katey Beckom and fiancé, Alden Patterson; great niece, Adley Patterson and mother-in-law, Connie Woody. She is preceded in death by her father Conard Beckom; step father, Gene Roney and Father-in-law, Dean Woody.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Connie's life during visitation on September 20, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 2205 S Church St, Burlington, NC 27215.
