Burlington, NC Clyde Small White, age 46, of Wellington Road died on Monday, March 19, 2007 at his home. He was a graduate of Middleton High School in Charleston, South Carolina. He received his undergraduate degrees in Biology and English from the College of Charleston and his MBA from Elon University. Clyde joined the staff of Carolina Biological on October 21, 1985 as Production Coordinator in the Scientific Publications Department. On October 14, 1988 he was promoted to the position of Executive Director and Manager of Cabisco Teleproductions where he produced a number of very well received video titles. On January 1, 1999 Clyde was named Business Manager of Science and Math, a position he held until January 5, 2000 when he was named Assistant to the Chairman. He was later named Director of Business Development and served in this capacity until June 1, 2004 when he accepted the position of Head of Multimedia, Math and Elementary Science. Clyde held this position until he left the Company on March 2, 2005. After leaving Carolina Biological, Clyde worked as a member of Dr. Thomas E. Powell, IIIs staff until his death on March 19, 2007. Clyde had a special gift that enabled him to interview some of the most well known and accomplished scientists, authors and Nobel Prize recipients. Included are: Carl Sagan, Dr. Gallo, Dr. Luke Montagnier Paris, Dr. Ed Teller, Dr. Jonas Salk, Dr. Ben Carson, Dr. Francis Crick, Linus Pauling, Jane Goodall, Stephen Hawking, Richard Leakey and Eudora Welty. Not only did he interview these people but he became close friends with each of them. Clyde was a outstanding friend, mentor and loving son, brother and entertaining and caring uncle. Survivors include his parents, Harry and Mary B. Small Brown of Melbourne, Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Pagozalski and her husband, Robert of Orlando, Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie White, Jr. and his wife, Gina of Las Vegas, Nevada and four nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Powerline Church of the Nazarene by Pastor Tim Taylor. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
