Haw River Clyde Donald Sipe, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 10, 2012. He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of 53 years to the late Clara Horner Sipe. Clyde retired from Times News after 44 years beginning with the paper as a carrier in his teens. He was an active member of Lowe Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and usher. Clyde enjoyed being a part of the Haw River Senior Citizens and He was a loving and devoted Christian husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his daughter, Torey Sipe McBride of Haw River; son, Greg Sipe of Burlington; granddaughter, Savannah McBride and her boyfriend, Federico Hernandez of Burlington; grandson, Raymond McBride of Haw River; great grandsons, Jose Hernandez and Christian Hernandez both of Burlington; sister, Louise Sipe Rogers of Graham; friend Marcelino M. Salazar of Haw River and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents, Perry Sidney Sipe and Carrie Freeze Sipe; brother, Frank Sipe. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 11:00 am by Pastor Bill Gindlesperger at Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane. The family will receive frineds from 4 -6 pm on Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of his granddauhgter.
