Burlington Clyde Walker Sharpe, 88, of 2205 Lacy St. passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Alamance County to the late Orice Lacy and Venie Black Sharpe and was married to the late Ardeth Pegg Sharpe. He was a former employee with Kayser-Roth, a member of West Burlington Church of God and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He is survived by his sons, Gary Sharpe and wife Louise, Randal Sharpe and wife Tiffany, Toby Sharpe and wife Amy, all of Burlington, Daryl Sharpe and wife Linda of Snow Camp and Jay Sharpe and wife Deborah of Elon; daughter, Renee Sharpe and fiance' Richard "Buddy" Swaney of Liberty; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and brothers, Roy Sharpe and Rex Sharpe, both of Burlington. The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at West Burlington Church of God by Rev. Olin Tatum with burial to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. The family would like to say a special Thank You to the staff of Hospice, especially Crystal, Ellen, Mitch and Bonnie, and Frances Dameron, a special caregiver for the tender loving care they showed to Mr. Sharpe.
