Burlington-Cletis Fogleman Wrenn, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 22, 2017. He was a native of Chatham County and the husband of 67 years to Betty Kimrey Wrenn who survives.
Cletis retired after more than 20 years with Copeland Fabrics and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. He served as a corporal in the US Army during WWII in communications and was a member of the American Legion. He was an avid reader and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of the home; sons, Barry Wrenn and wife, Mary of Prospect Hill, Kent Wrenn and wife, Rita of Warsaw, Indiana and Donald Wrenn of Greensboro; daughter, Lisa Putnam and husband, Russell of Burlington; 15 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; sister, Goldie Whitte of Elon. He was preceded in death by his son, Roger Allen Wrenn; parents, Cicero and Millie Thompson Fogleman and adopted parents, Henry and Bertha Wrenn: sister, Nellie Hawkins; brothers, Erwin, Delbert and John Wrenn; adopted brother, Marvin Fogleman; adopted sister, Edna Bowman.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Chip Sellew and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of his daughter, Lisa Putnam.
