Cleo Paul Bray, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. Born in Chatham County, he was the son of the late Will and Myrtle Hicks Bray and the husband of 60 years to Faye Burrows Bray of the home. Cleo was the owner of Alamance Lock and Key for 22 years and had previously retired from Burlington Industries. He was of the Christian Faith and enjoyed spending time with his K-9 Companion, "Murphy". Survivors include his wife of the home; daughter, Linda Bray Smith and husband, Darren of Burlington; son, Tommy Bray of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Dylan Smith, Logan Smith, Kelli Bray Foley and husband, Rusty and Stephanie Bray and fianc, Scott Herring; great granddaughter, Emorie Herring and a niece, Blanche Luther and husband, Junior of Asheboro. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth Myers and Jewel Bray and brothers, Sam Bray and Jack Bray. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Minister Creighton Beatty with interment to follow at Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery in Bennett, NC. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Burlington Christian Church Building Fund, 301 Trail Four, Burlington, NC 27215.
