Claudy Fowler

Claudy A. Fowler, 79, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2008 at his home. A native of Burlington, NC, he was the son of the late Zeb Auburn and Grace Mae Faucette Fowler. He was a graduate of Burlington High School and Elon College. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from Sears, Roebuck & Co. as a buyer. Mr. Fowler was an avid hunter, loved billiards, walks on the beach, lunches at the Clubhouse and travelling to Mexico with his dear friend Mildred Shaver. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose No. 1956. Mr. Fowler is survived by his children, Geoffrey A. Fowler Rayda Gyle of South Elgin, ILL, Diane F. Turkett of Columbia, SC, Melinda A. Brown Todd of Chapin and Tina M. Fowler of Little River; sisters, Hilda Simmons and Peggy Jones both of NC; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Margaret A. Fowler of ILL; the mother of his children, Martha T. Neyra of ILL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gregory L. Fowler and Michael W. Fowler; sister, Nadene McGovern; and his beloved springer spaniel Jack Daniels. Services were held in N. Myrtle Beach.
