Clarence Riggsbee

Burlington – Clarence “Buddy” Riggsbee, 88, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at his granddaughter, Beth and her husband Todd’s home.  He was born on April 5, 1930 in Chatham County to the late Clarence Wescott Riggsbee and Rachel Gray Riggsbee; and was married to the late Betty Lewis Riggsbee who died in 2013.

Clarence was a retired truck driver with the NC Department of Agriculture and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his step daughter, Barbara Lewis Lilienthal; granddaughter’s, Beth McGuire and husband Todd, Amanda Shoop and husband David; great grandchildren, Dylan McGuire, Abi Cary and Lilly Cary; a sister, Margie Barnes and numerous nieces and nephews.  Clarence was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and sisters, Pauline Locklear and Hazel Massey.

The graveside service will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Sparrow and Mt. Carmel Cemetery by Pastor Holly Lux-Sullivan.  The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
