Clarence O'Dell Hosley, III, known by friends and family as “Dale” took his last mortal breath on Friday, July 28, 2023 at his residence almost a year after being diagnosed with cancer.
Dale was born to Clarence O'Dell Hosley, Jr. and Willie Edna Owen Hosley in Danville, VA on June 18, 1960. Along with his parents he is predeceased by a half sister, Sylvia Ann Hosley Mimms. Dale married Sommer Hall on November 28, 1987 and they moved to Graham, NC where Dale worked at SCI for 13 years until the plant moved to Lynchburg, VA. He attended Graham Church of God and while able, loved attending church, playing music, traveling and visiting churches and care facilities with the music ministry. His special friend, Wayne Penland, continued to visit Dale and share their love of God and music when he could no longer attend church.
Besides his wife, Sommer, of the home, Dale is survived by his son, Drew (Lacy) Hall; and the apple of his eye, his four grandchildren, Delilah, Liam, Corbett and Abram; their mother, Billie Jo Mascorro; his in-laws, Sammy and Betty Hall of Reidsville NC; his sister-in-law, Pamela (Danny) Hall of Mebane; brother-in-law, Joshua Hall of California; his niece, Jeanette (Shane) Hairston of Ringgold, VA; his nephews, Eddie (Cindy) Mimms of Providence, NC, Ronnie (Pamela) Mimms of Yanceyville, NC, Victor (Tammie) Mimms of Danville, VA, and Keith (Nancy) Mimms of Pelham, as well as all their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Graham Church of God by Pastor James Garner. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at Highland Burial Park in Danville, VA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the AuthoraCare Staff, especially Erica Knight, Vanessa Sweger, Belinda Graves, Gail Smith and Janet Hitchens for the care, devotion and support provided to Dale and the family during his illness.
