Clarence Dail

Burlington, NC Clarence David Dail, age 86 , of 3163 Bellemont-Mt. Hermon Road went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 7, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Pitt County and the husband of 44 years to Mildred Wright Dail who survives. Clarence retired from Colonial Grocery Stores after 38 years and he later worked for Harris Teeter for over 19 years. He was a US Army veteran serving in Scotland during WW II. He attended Calvary Baptist Church and was an avid gardener and he enjoyed camping especially with his family. Clarence was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include his wife of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Dail Hyler and her husband Terry of Burlington; sons and daughters-in-law, Greg Dail and his wife, Gwynn of Liberty, Donald Johnson and his wife, Carol of Burlington, Jerry Wayne Johnson and his wife, Pam of Burlington, Tommy Johnson of Darlington, South Carolina; grandchildren, Tommy Johnson, Jason Johnson, Kim Wilson and David Johnson all of Burlington, LaShae Johnson of Wake Forest, Caleb McKeel and his wife, Erica of Germany, Megan McKeel of Burlington, Jennifer Dail of Maryland, Cooper Dail of Liberty, Lauren Hyler and Emily Hyler both of Burlington, Hunter Lewis of Liberty; three great grandchildren; sisters, Doris Hanks of Moyock, NC and Margaret Bass of Durham; brother, Dalton Dail of Chesapeake, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kay McKeel; parents, John David and Rosa Williamson Dail; sister, Rachael Dail; brother, William Dail. The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church by Rev. Ernest Beck and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park with military honors provided by the 82nd Airborne Division.. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
