Clarence Edward "Ed" Christmas, Jr., 78, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Camden, SC to the late Clarence Edward Christmas, Sr. and Ethelyn Corbett Christmas and was married for 31 years to Carolyn Copper Christmas who survives.
Ed was a graduate of Furman University where he also played on the tennis team and sang in the glee club. He worked for E.I. Dupont for almost 40 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Burlington where he also served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. Ed was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and traveling. He had a special love for teaching and spent 15 years in China as an ESL teacher. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; son, Michael Meador (Claire); grandchildren, Natalya, James, and Caeden. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael L. Christmas who died in Vietnam while serving in the U.S. Army.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, September 28, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Burlington by Dr. Terry Peele. The family will receive friends following the service.
