Clara Mae McDaniel Wyrick of 3225 Huffine Mill Rd. went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 23, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer for six years. She was born in Guilford County to the late Eddie Henry McDaniel and the late Emma Elizabeth Payne McDaniel. Clara was married for over 35 years to her loving husband Lincoln Linky L. Wyrick. She was a member of Brown Wesleyan Church where she was actively involved in Promise Builders, a ladies small group ministry, and where one of her greatest joys was teaching and working with children in Sunday School. Clara worked for Cone Mills for over 40 years at several different locations. Clara was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who was very involved with her sons and their sports activities and was very fond of her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is survived by her loving husband; Linky of the home, sons, Christian and Cameron Wyrick, both of the home; sisters, Kathy Blackburn and Vivian Welch, both of Greensboro; brothers, Lawrence and Rondall McDaniel, both of Greensboro; and a granddaughter, Maryssa Rae Wyrick. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Ellen Alcon and a brother, Jimmie Lee McDaniel. The funeral will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, June 26, 2006 at Brown Wesleyan Church by Rev. Larry Pope, Rev. Mark Minner and Rev. Billy Roy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday evening at Brown Wesleyan Church and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Brown Wesleyan Church, 4355 High Rock Rd., Gibsonville, NC 27249, Hospice of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405 or to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to say a special Thank You to all of Claras faithful church family for their unfailing support and to the staff of Hospice of Greensboro who took such good care of her.
