Clara Smith

Clara Lee Pleasant Smith, 83, passed away Friday, December 06, 2013 at her home after several months of failing health. She was born in Person County to the late William Samuel and Betty Briggs Pleasant and was the wife of 63 years to Jack Smith of the home. Clara was a former cashier with Byrds Food Stores and a member of The Lamb's Chapel. She is survived by her husband; daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Tim Hudson of Haw River, Pam and Paul Smart of Mebane, and Carolyn Smith and friend Cynthia Livengood of Greensboro; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Margot Smith of Matthews, NC; grandchildren and spouses, Jennifer and Matt Weisner, Jessica and Kenneth Surles, Mallory Smith and Rob Smith; great grandchildren, Mackenna and Hudson Weisner; sister, Wilverleen Slaughter of Roxboro; brother and sister-in-law, W.S. and Carol Pleasant of Hurdle Mills, NC. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. James Rosser with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00pm and other times at the home.
