Clara Greene

Burlington-Clara Townsend Greene, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday April 29, 2018 at Edgewood Place. She was the daughter of the late Ira Eugene Townsend and Alice Beard Townsend and wife of the late Elmer Clay Greene.
Clara was a seamstress at Ferrell Manufacturing in Graham until she retired. Clara loved to spend her summers back home in Banner Elk North Carolina as well as traveling all over with her late husband in their RV. She loved nature including her flowers and birds.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra "Sandi" Davis and husband, J.W. and Karen "Pee Wee" Dean and special friend, Jimmy Pope; grandchildren, Toby Cates of Tennessee, Glenn Cates and wife, Brady of Burlington and Chris Overby and wife, Sandy of Charlotte; great grandchildren, Tanner Cates, Mickey Cates, Mallory Cates, Kami Overby and Reagan Overby; brothers, Byrle, Charles, Landon and Ricky Townsend; sisters, Dare Johnson, Willa Mae Parker and Phyllis Sandy. She was preceded in death by her husband, and parents.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Larry Batts and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
