Clara Evans

Burlington - Clara Lee Kivett Evans, 85, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields. She was born in Guilford County on October 19, 1932 to the late Percy Lee Kivett and Evie Farrington Kivett and was the wife to the late S.T. Wesley Evans who died in 2006.

Clara retired from the Alamance County School System after 25 years of service. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher, member of the United Methodist Women and served on various committees in the church when she was active.

Survivors include her loving son, Tony Darryl Evans and significant other, Lisa Rivera; daughter-in-law, Linda Phillips Evans; grandson, Tommy Fetzer and wife, Donna; great grandchildren, Natalie and Ryan Fetzer; sister, Dorothy Blalock; brother, Larry Kivett. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Steven Taylor Evans; sister, Bessie Benton and a brother, Percy "Jack" Kivett.

The funeral service will be held 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Fairview United Methodist Church by Dr. Mark Clark with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:30-12:45 at the church on Wednesday prior to the service and other times at the son's home in Efland.

A special thank you to the nurses and staff of the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields for their loving care they showed to Clara during her illness.
