Cicero Johnson

Gibsonville, NC Cicero Hadley "C.H." Johnson, 78, of 119 NC 100 went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 03, 2007 at Moses Cone Medical Center. Mr. Johnson was born April 24, 1929 in Smithfield, NC to the late Louis E. and Ethel Jordan Johnson Thompson. Mr. Johnson retired as a general contractor and was co-owner of Johnson's Design. He was a faithful member of Gibsonville First Baptist Church, a member of the Gibsonville Lions Club and was past District Governor of District 35-O Florida. He was a mason in the Winter Garden Lodge 165, a Scottish Rite of Freemasonary S.J. USA Valley of Orlando 32 degree, and he was a former mayor of Winter Garden, Florida. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife of 54 years Betty Simmons Johnson; three sons, Bobby Hadley Johnson and his wife Shelia of Gibsonville, Walter Ben Johnson and his wife Mickey of Gibsonville, and Michael Lee Johnson and his wife Becky of Archdale; six grandchildren, Matthew Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Walter Ben Johnson, II, R.J. Johnson, Brooke Johnson, and Stephanie Johnson; a brother, Gordan L. Johnson of Burlington. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis E. Johnson. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Gibsonville First Baptist Church by the Rev. Brian Ayers. Visitation will follow after the service. In lieu of flowers the family ask for memorials to be made to Gibsonville First Baptist Church, 221 Piedmont Ave, Gibsonville, NC 27249. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Johnson Family.
