Christopher “Chris” Lee Moore passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, at his home, succumbing to a heart condition that had challenged him since 2023. Born on September 20, 1979, Chris lived a life brimming with passion, laughter, and a boundless love for those around him.
A musician at heart, Chris was as dynamic as the music he cherished. He loved going to concerts, where he reveled in the beats and rhythms that brought people together. Beyond the world of music, Chris was an enthusiastic sports fan, proudly waving the banners of his beloved Duke Blue Devils and the San Francisco 49ers. He also treasured time at Carolina Beach, where sun-soaked days and the sound of the waves provided him solace.
Chris had an eye for style and he delighted in shopping, proudly donning the latest sneakers and ballcaps that showcased his unique flair. His animals held a special place in his heart, and his loyal dogs were never far from his side. Those who knew him will remember Chris not only as a loving friend but also as a proud holder of a double black belt in martial arts, always seeking to push the limits of his abilities.
Chris leaves behind a legacy reflected in his family. He is survived by his devoted mother, Margaret Cole; his brother, Joshua Moore; his loving girlfriend, Julie Brooks, and her two children, Kayleigh and Traxxas Brooks, who filled his life with joy and laughter. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Teresa and Randy Long, along with their son, Johnathan Long and girlfriend Shan Shan; and his uncles, Keith Cole and Glenn Cole (Robin), with their children Billy Cole (Tina), and Wesley Cole. Chris also maintained deep bonds with his best friends, Dustin Ford (Chris’s “partner in crime”), and Brian Ford, and their parents Tommy and Lisa Ford, who stood by him through thick and thin, sharing countless memories and laughter; and a host of other dear family members and friends. He also is survived by his dog, Scout. Chris was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Scott Moore; his grandparents, Harry and Mona Moore and Richard and Elsie Cole; great-grandmother, Madeline “Granny” Lineberry; uncles, Bruce Moore, Duncan Moore, and Gary Moore; beloved dogs, Benson, Zeus, and Bourbon; and many other close relatives.
A celebration of Chris’s life will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 4 PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will immediately follow the service.
