Burlington, NC Christine "Chris" Clark Denton, age 83, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family, She was a native of Buncombe County and the wife of the late Alton D. "A.D." Denton. Chris was the owner and operator of Chris's Flower Shop for many years. She enjoyed fishing and gardening. Chris was a loving and devoted wife,, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her daughters. Annette Fulcher of Graham, Sandra Finger and her husband, Louis of Raleigh and Lyn Brandenburg and her husband, Dennis also of Raleigh; son, Bobby Clark and his wife, Sue of Burlington; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; sister, Emma Lou Waldroup of Asheville. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Clarence and Obera Ensley Penland; sisters, Juanita Landers, Lorraine Caraway, Jean Elliott and Irene Lunsford; brothers, Arthur and James Penland. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mark Ahern and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter, Annette Fulcher.
