Christine Miles Blanchard

Burlington – Helen Christine Miles Blanchard, 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 16, 2022.  She was born on March 1, 1931 in Alamance County to the late Robert “Ed” Edward Miles and Celestia “Lessie” Rudd Miles, and was married to the late James Edward Blanchard, Sr.

She retired as the administrative assistant with Alamance County Soil and Water after 40 years of service.  Christine was a member of Bethel Christian Church, she loved the beach, enjoyed traveling and was an avid gardener

She is survived by her sister-in-law and caregiver, Becky Miles and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Christine was preceded in death by her husband, James; a son, James “Jimmy” Edward Blanchard, Jr.; sisters, Geraldine Hoffman and Sarah Hoffman; and brothers, Vernon Miles and Larry Miles.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the caregivers, Myra, Judy and Almina for their compassion and loving care that was shown to Christine during her illness.

The celebration service will be held at 4:00pm Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Nathaniel Hobbs.  The family will receive friends following the service.
