Christine Allison

Mrs. Christine Walker Allison, age 86, of Burlington, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health. Born in Orange County, she was the daughter of the late Lacy Doc Walker and the late Minnie Riley Walker and was married for over 66 years to Joseph P. Allison, who survives. Christine retired from Burlington Industries with over 50 years of service and was a longtime member of Ireland Street Chapel. Mrs. Allison is survived by her husband of the home; two sons, Danny Randle Allison and his wife, Connie, and Steven Wayne Allison and his wife, Sharon, all of Burlington; five grandchildren, Teresa (Pete) Acosta, Tina (Todd) Wrenn, Bradley (Lesha) Allison, Crystal (Matt) McFarling and Christopher Allison; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Rimmer of Mebane and Elaine Walker of Yanceyville; and a brother, Howard Walker of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Myrtle Vaughn. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Union Ridge Church by Rev. Dan Ficklin. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 1:45 PM Thursday prior to the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the son, Stevens home, 1117 McCray Rd., Burlington.
