Mr. Chester Ollie Horner, Jr., age 67, of 4573 Tangle Ridge Trail, died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Duke University Medical Center after several months of failing health. Born in Orange County, he was the son of the late Chester O. Horner, Sr. and the late Etta Bullock Horner and was married for over 33 years to Mrs. Thelma "Vickie" Hall Horner, who survives. Chester was formerly employed with Flynt Fabrics and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Horner is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Peggy Sue Horner of the home; four sons, William Joseph "Billy" Horner, Johnny Lynn Horner and his wife, Terry, James William "J.W." Pulliam and Dwight Samuel "Sam" Horner, all of Burlington; a granddaughter, Kelli Coble; a great grandson, Christopher Dakota "Grasshopper" Ursery; and a half-sister, Tillie Horner. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ralph Edward Horner. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Concord Christian Church Cemetery by Dr. Dace Lewis. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:30 Tuesday prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
