Charlie Young, Sr.

Charlie "C. T." Thomas Young, Sr. 92, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Hospice Home in Burlington. Mr. Young was born in Harnett County to the late Charlie Thomas and Myrtle Young. He was the husband of the late Minnie Harmon Young who preceded him. C. T. retired after many years as a Broadcast Engineer, was a member of the Senior Citizen Dance Club, and a U. S. Army Veteran. Survivors include two sons, Charlie Young, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Winston-Salem, and Jim Young and his wife Anne of Burnsville, NC; two grandchildren, Chuck Young and his wife Cindy and Christina Biggs and her husband Marty; three great grandchildren, C.T. Young, Samantha Biggs, and Lexie Biggs; a sister, Allene Young Clark of Gibsonville; and his companion of 21 years, Estelle Mann of Burlington. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Apple officiating. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
