GIBSONVILLE- Mr. Charlie Warren Roberts, age 73, of Guilford County, died Monday, July 23, 2012 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital after several months of failing health. Born in Rockingham County, he was the son of the late Clarence Charlie Roberts and the late Martha Bray Roberts and was married for over 52 years to Mrs. Nancy Michael Roberts, who survives. He retired from P. Lorillard Tobacco Company with over 41 years of service and was of the Quaker Friends Faith. Charlie was an avid Bingo player and was a former volunteer fireman in Guilford County. Mr. Roberts was survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, LuAnn Roberts of Landrum, SC; and two brothers, George Angela "Cookie" Roberts of New Port Richey, FL and James Beth Roberts of Pembroke Pines, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nora Adkins; and a brother, Kermit Roberts. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, July 27, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. C. Allen Myers, III. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the funeral home and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
