Charlie Thomas Maness

March 23, 1958 — August 5, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charlie Thomas Maness, a devoted father, grandfather, and friend, on August 5, 2024. Born on March 23, 1958, in Orange County to Charlie Leon Maness and Lillie “Mae” Lineberry. Charlie lived a life full of hard work, love, and joy.

He was the owner and operator of Maness Logging and Maness Trucking. He spent his days working in the great outdoors. When he wasn't on the road or in the woods, he could often be found in the company of his beloved children and grandchildren, sharing stories, laughter, and love. Charlie treasured time with friends, whether it was a trip to the mountains, a day spent fishing, or an afternoon grilling and cooking out. These were the moments that filled his life with happiness.

Since the passing of his dear wife, Debbie Maness, two years ago, Charlie held her memory close, finding comfort in the company of his family and the memories they built together. His strength, dedication, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Charlie is survived by his daughters, Mandy Maness (Rae) and Melissa LaPoint (Darius); grandchildren, Chris Holmes, Jalen Holmes, Shelby LaPoint, Shyanne LaPoint and Skylar LaPoint; great grandchild, Gabby Holmes; mother, Lillie “Mae” Maness; sisters, Elizabeth Everett, Janice Wyrick and Patricia Barrington; brothers, Gary Maness and Harold Maness, a host of nieces and nephews and lots of friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Charlie Leon Maness and his wife Debbie Maness. A memorial will be held at a later date.
