Charlie Humphries

Burlington, NC ROGER HUMPHRIES Charlie Roger Humphries, age 78, of 3164 Rae Dr. passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 at Hospice Home. A native of Randolph County, he was the husband of Katie Holyfield Humphries and son of the late Charlie Cooper and Nora Layne Humphries and step mother, Clyde Cockerham Humphries. Roger was a retired employee of G.E., a volunteer with Hospice and a member of Peoples Memorial Christian Church where he served as usher for 29 years. He enjoyed his garden and camping. Survivors include his wife, Katie Holyfield Humphries of the home; son, Michael Roger "Mike" Humphries and wife Janie of Liberty; 2 grandchildren, Courtney Gerringer and husband Eric of Whitsett and Kelly Martin and husband Chuck of Pleasant Garden; 2 great grandchildren, Adam and Katlynn Gerringer. He was preceded in death by his parents, step mother and a twin brother, Joseph Ralph Humphries. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. John Shields. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8pm Saturday and other times at the home.
