Charles Smith

McLeansville-Charles Glenn Smith, 85, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021.  He was a native of Guilford County and the son of the late Clyde and Sarah Yow Smith.

Glenn retired from Sears and also worked with the Apollo Support Program for GE soldering wire bundles. He was a US navy veteran serving on the USS Valley Forge as an Aviation Supply Clerk. Glenn enjoyed wintering in Florida each year, fishing and playing card games on the weekends with his friends.

Glenn is survived by his brothers, William Boyd Smith of McLeansville, Edward Leon Smith of Decatur, Alabama and Lyndon Smith of Smyrna, Georgia.; numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Key and a brother, Jack Smith.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 10:00am at Gibsonville City Cemetery with military honors provided by the US Navy. The family will receive friends from 4-6pm on Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
