Charles Albert Roop, 77, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 2, 2024 at his home. He was born on February 6, 1947 in Summit County, OH to the late Robert Edmund Roop and Mary Catherine Marsh Roop.
Charles was a retired electrician with 30 years of service with The Hoover Company in North Canton, Ohio. He was a proud US Navy veteran serving six years in the Submarine Service. Charles has been an electrician for over 50 years and in his earlier years he owned and operated Roop Electric. He was a member of Burlington Assembly of God where he was active in the Caring Kitchen and enjoyed being with the Old Geezers. Charles enjoyed watching history programs, telling stories, jokes, fishing and cooking with his grandson, Sammy, and just loved spending time with his whole family. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Charles is survived by his children, Lisa Wioskowski and Ken, Gary Roop and Joy, Deirdre Wesley and Ben; grandchildren, Lauren Alfman, Chase Alfman, Griffin Thompson-Roop, Paige Thompson-Roop, Benjamen Wesley and Esmeralda, Sammy Wesley, Elliotte Wesley, Eli Wesley-Greenlief, Shay Fant, Brittani Tomic and Peter; great grandchildren, Brystin, Arzola, Milena, Delilah, and a great granddaughter on the way, Evangeline; nieces, Heather Roberts, Heidi Roberts, CanDee Lamp and Ernie; a nephew, Robert Notch and Mindy; and his extended family, Mark Reichenbach. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Gina Diane Roop Reichenbach; and sisters, Roberta Hawk and Marsha Roberts.
The funeral service to celebrate the life of Charles will be held at 3:00pm Friday, December 6, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Bryan Rainbow. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45pm Friday prior to the service. Charles will be laid to rest in his home of Canal Fulton, on Monday, December 9th at Canal Fulton Union Cemetery, Canal Fulton, Ohio with military honors.
