Charles Rolfes

Charles Harold Rolfes of Shannon Drive passed away at the Hospice Home on May 31, 2012. He was born to the late August Harold and Rachel Irene Rolfes on July 26, 1928 in El Nido, California. Chuck received his undergraduate degree from California Polytechnic State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of Korea. He was proud of his career with Western Electric-Alcatel Lucent. Upon retirement he became a devoted Hospice League volunteer and cherished his many friends especially Andy and Willy. His wife of thirty-three years Patricia O'Keefe Rolfes predeceased him. Surviving are his wife of twenty-two years Helen Doenges Rolfes. From New Jersey are daughter Kathy Craig Klemm and husband Daniel, "The Craig Girls" Kristy, Heather, Katy and great grandchild Ria, son John Rolfes and wife Kimberly and grandson Edmund of Florida and Frank Rolfes of Colorado. His stepchildren Karen Doenges and daughter Nikki of Charlotte, James Doenges of New Jersey and Karl Williams Doenges of Burlington. Robert Doenges deceased wife Cindi and grandson Jacob Doenges of Winston Salem, brother John Fred Rolfes and sister Phyllis Kinny of California. Chuck was a world traveler and one of his greatest joys was planning his next trip. A Celebration of Life service will be held on June 11. 2012 at 11 A.M. at Friedens Lutheran Church, 6001 N.C. 61 North, Gibsonville by Pastor William Zima.
