Charles Phillips III

Burlington Charles Eugene "Tripp" Phillips III, age 38, slipped away from this earth to live on in all who loved him at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill with his parents and precious love, Michelle at his side. He is survived by his parents, Charles "Gene" and Deborah "Debbie" Phillips of Snow Camp; brother, Brian Phillips and wife, Laura of Burlington; his beloved nieces, Ella and Arianna; paternal grandparents, Charles and Bessie Phillips of Burlington and maternal grandmother, Martha Guthrie Warren of Snow Camp; future wife, Michelle Defour and her children, Damien, Cameron and Samantha whom he accepted, loved and treated as his own. Tripp left numerous extended family to mourn his loss; uncles and aunts, cousins, family friends and neighbors, co-workers, past and present. He was an Army Gulf War Veteran of distinguished service. He loved watching Washington Redskin football with his Grannie, family cook-outs and Sunday dinners at Moms. He could be counted on to help, not only family, but was generous in his contributions to help others in need. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the American Red Cross, Salvation Army and Loaves and Fishes food bank. Tripp was a valued employee of Stericycle of Haw River and will be greatly missed by his co-workers. Their generosity and heart-felt concern is so greatly appreciated. He often told his parents how much he enjoyed working there and spoke often of his co-drivers and Andrea, Jerrie Dawn and Levelle Payne in the office. The will be no service, however, the family will receive friends from 2-4pm Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the parents home at 9377 Bethel-South Fork Road in Snow Camp. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the EMT Responders of the Mebane Fire Department, the staff of ARMC, UNC Life Flight, UNC Hospital of Chapel Hill ER staff and the staff of the Neuroscience ICU. Also a special thanks to Teresa Hart, the Family Support Coordinator for Carolina Donor Services for her support and guidance through the entire process.
