Charles Keven Morton, age 58, was born on August 22 1963. Charles lost his short, yet valiant battle with lung cancer in the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Charles was born to Carolyn Glover Morton and Charles Ray Thompson in Stanly County. He moved to Alamance County with his mother and father, Hubert Lee ‘Chuck’ Morton around the time he began elementary school.
Charles was fortunate enough to have two marriages and three children in his lifetime. He married Deanine Tucker in 1984, they welcomed their daughter Amanda Morton that same year. He met Michelle Harrell in the early 90’s and he gained his second daughter, Caylee Harrell, through this relationship. In 1999, Charles and Michelle married and they welcomed their son, Keven Morton in 2002.
Charles was known by a few names in his lifetime, beginning as a child with his parents choosing to call him Keven, to high school where his classmates nicknamed him ‘Cave Man’. Most simply knew him as ‘Hot Dog’ and all others knew him as Charles. No matter what you knew him as you knew a few things about him. He spent his life fishing, loved to be barefoot outdoors and always had long locks. If inside he was tending to his African violets and watching ridiculous shows with his kids.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Michelle Morton; father, Charles Ray Thompson; his mother, Carolyn Morton Lowe; and three brothers, Jackie Lynn Morton, Tommy Ray Thompson and Terry Lee Morton.
He leaves behind his children, Amanda Walker (Jordan) and their children, Lydia & Felix of Raleigh, Caylee Gilham (John) and their children, Aiden & Wyatt of Greensboro and Keven Morton (Jordyn) of the home.
In his death he hoped to be reunited with his wife, Michelle and his father, Charles Ray Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, his family would like for him to be remembered with donations to the American Cancer Society or Authoracare Hospice of Burlington.
