Charles Meacham

Charles "Buddy" Meacham died at the Hospice Home of Burlington on Friday, January 23, 2015 after a 10-year battle with Cancer. Born 16 January 1939, he is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Bobbie Hoover Meacham, two sons and their wives, Charles Jr. "Chuck" and Cecilia, and Mark and Rebecca. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Sophia, Sebastian, Faith, and Diego, his sister Connie Buchan Wilkie, and brother Johnny Buchan. He is predeceased by his parents Eugene Young Meacham and Ruth Meacham Buchan and his brother Donald Meacham. Those who knew Buddy knew a man who was passionate in his dedication to family and friends. He loved sharing stories about his children and grandchildren and reminiscing about his childhood days in Charlotte and traveling the world as a Navy seaman. He grew up in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and, after attending Harding High School, served on the USS Haleakala for the US Navy. He later retired from Lance, Inc. For his family and friends, Buddy will always be remembered as a loyal friend whose humor made us smile. Buddy's family wish to thank those whose support was unwavering during his time of illness. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell. A memorial service officiated by Dr. William C. Simpson, Jr. and Rev. William G. Sharpe IV will be held at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel in Burlington on Monday January 26, 2015 at 11 am. Visitation will be held before the service from 9:30 to 10:45.
