The Reverend Charles Wesley Jennings, 89, of Wycliff Ct. of Twin Lakes Retirement Community in Burlington, NC, died Sunday, April 26, 2009. Born in Greensboro on August 9, 1919, he was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Casper Jennings. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dandridge Price Jennings of Reidsville, NC, who died in 1967. Mr. Jennings is survived by his wife of the home, Ann Powell Jennings; three daughters, Jane Lea Thomas and husband, William, of Louisburg, NC, Marjorie Lewis Jennings of Wilmington and Gay Ann Crabtree and husband, Johnny, of Bahama, NC; three grandchildren, Chris, Brent and Suzanne; and two sisters, Marjorie Lea Thacher of Folsom, CA and Mary Ann Wiebe of Panama City, FL. "Wes", as his friends called him, was a graduate of Guilford College and Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, VA. He was a veteran of World War II. Wes served Presbyterian pastorates in North Carolina located in Wentworth, Spray now Eden, Concord Rocky River, Wilmington Cape Fear, and Greenville Hollywood. In retirement in Wilmington, he served a number of churches and was a Parish Associate for Winter Park Presbyterian Church. Wes served as a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program for many years and also served in many areas of volunteer work at Twin Lakes. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Springwood Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dale Walker and Rev. Madison M. Highfill. The family will have a reception following the service at Twin Lakes in the Peppertree. Memorials may be made to Springwood Presbyterian Church, P.O.
