Charles Gerringer

Burlington- Charles Eddie Gerringer, AKA “Eddie G” passed away Monday, October 28, 2019 at the Alamance Caswell Hospice Home.

He was born and raised in Burlington, NC and was the son of the late Ira Boyd Gerringer and Eleanor Wilson Hodge Gerringer, both deceased. He served with the US Air Force.  One of his greatest loves was being on the lakes with his fishermen buddies.   He was an avid bass fisherman and member of the Burlington Bass Masters. He fished a tour with the Bass Masters Chapter Team. He missed this most when he began his battle with illness.  He was also an avid bowler and within months of losing one of his eyes to melanoma, he bowled a perfect game. He never met a stranger. He loved his daughters with a passion.  His pride and joy was his granddaughter- his little “Doodle Bug.”

Eddie is survived by his daughters, Lauren Nannette Gerringer and husband Josh, and Jenna Carol Gerringer; and his beloved granddaughter, Charlestyn Jayne May. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dean Gerringer.

The family would like to extend love and thanks to his hospice team, Sarah, Leslie and Kara. Your loving care and compassion meant the world to us.

A private burial will be held at a later date. Friends and family may visit at the home of Lauren and Josh Gerringer at 1708 Colby Court, Burlington NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request that donations be made to Alamance Caswell Hospice and Palliative Care, 914 Chapel Hill Rd Burlington NC 27215.
