Charles Michael (Charlie) Jordan, 46, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 6, 2024. He was born in Alamance County and was an Alumni of Alamance Christian School class of ‘97.
Michael is survived by his mother, Faye Warren Jordan of Burlington; Fiancé, Lela Mosher of Graham; Brothers, Brian Jordan (Kimberly) of Burlington and Jonathan Jordan (Elizabeth) of Wendell, NC; Nephews, Calab Jordan (Amanda) of Graham; Joshua Jordan (Kelsea) of Graham, and Cole Jordan, Wyatt Jordan and Gavin Jordan all of Wendell, NC; Niece, Madison Jordan of Burlington; Great Nieces, Emily Jordan and Lanie Jordan; Goddaughters, Alicia Mosher and Sharon Dalton of Graham, and was “Grandpappy” to Quinnzel, Rayne and Steven. He was preceded in death by his Father, Tommy Jordan and Brother, James Robert “JB” Jordan. Michael went by many names; “Charlie”, “Mike”, “Mikey”, “HollarBox”, and “Two Step” just to name a few. It makes no difference what name he was called, as he could always be described as the guy with the beard who would not wear shoes no matter the weather.
Michael owned HollarBox photography and loved taking pictures. He has captured many memories of friends and family and was known for his landscapes. He often traveled and attended special events to capture that perfect photo. He was also a volunteer at Glencoe Textile Heritage Museum where he helped with tours, archives and pictures. Michael was a member of Staley Memorial Baptist Church where he was dedicated, baptized, and had operated the sound system. He faithfully attended Greater Love World Outreach where he was ordained as a Chronicler.
Michael was an original charter member of Piedmont Men of Steel – an interdenominational, men’s discipleship, Bible based, “faith missions” ministry where he used his love of photography to document their activities and his love of people to help the organization grow. He followed the word of his Lord from Matthew 22:39 “Love your neighbor as yourself.” His favorite bible verse was 1 Peter 5:7 – “... casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” He deeply cared for his family, especially the children. He leaves this world with more friends than could ever be counted. His laugh, sense of humor, and care for others may never be matched. Michael leaves behind an unforgettable legacy and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Monday, January 8th 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory. A service to celebrate his life will be held at Staley Memorial Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024 at 4:00 PM by Pastor Ron Harris and Reverend Woody Lamm.
