Burlington, NC C.D. Edmonds, age 77, of 2540 Hyde Street went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at his home, He was a native of Alamance County and the husband of forty-three years to Ruby Bradley Edmonds who survives. C.D. retired from Cone Mills after forty-six years and was a longtime member of Wicker Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing in his spare time but was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include his wife of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Myra Manuli and her husband, Phil of Mebane, Wanda Horner of Haw River, Tammy Russell and her husband, Jeff of Elon, Brenda Oxendine and her husband, Charles of Burlington; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Edmonds and his wife, Cynthia of Graham and Steven Ashley and his wife, Teresa of Snow Camp; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; sisters, Bettie Edwards of Creedmoor, Violet McCullock of Cedar Grove; brother, Thomas Tinker Edmonds of Haw River. He was preceded in death by his parents, Columbus D. Edmonds, Sr. and Rosie Jones Edmonds; step son, Tommy Ashley and a brother, Lewis Edmonds. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Wicker Street Baptist Church by Rev. Tommy Love and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
