Burlington

Cathy Coe Delk, 66, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2024, at the Hospice Home. She was born on June 19, 1957, in Alamance County. Cathy touched the lives of countless with her warm heart and unwavering faith in Jesus. She exhibited extraordinary strength throughout several years of battling cancer and faced each day with a courageous spirit, never allowing her illness to dampen her day.

Cathy was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church and Haw River First Baptist Church.  She had a unique gift of connecting with people from all walks of life. She could strike up a conversation with anyone, regardless of their age or background.

Throughout her life, Cathy enjoyed nature and various outdoor activities. She had a green thumb and found joy in gardening and fishing. Her talent extended beyond cultivation as she worked with rock art and also grew, cured, and meticulously decorated gourds.  Her artistic prowess earned her numerous ribbons at the state fair which she was very proud of. Cathy's favorite flowers were pansies, daylilies, and sunflowers.  She found solace in watching hummingbirds alongside the melodies of her windchimes that her daughter Casie lovingly gifted her every year.

Cathy was also a gifted writer and poet. Many of her works were published, touching the hearts of many who read them.

Cathy Sue Delk is survived by her son, Shannon Orvis; daughter, Casie Delk; mother, June Overman; granddaughter, Jordan Buchanan; great grandson, Tayvon Buchanan; sister, Terri Bumgarner (Allen); brother, Thomas Riley Coe, Jr., David Michael Curtis; half sister, Kellie Coe Vest (Joseph), Rhonda Coe; stepfathers, G.
