Catherine Thornton

Catherine Gaskins Thornton, 90, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the Hospice Home.  She was born in Pamlico County to the late James Leland and Lena Langdon Gaskins and was married to the late Marshall Thornton.  She was a member of Kinnett Memorial Baptist Church

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia “Pat” Hill; son, Phillip “Phil” Thornton and wife Guythia; grandchildren, Phillip Joseph “Joe” Thornton, Monica T. Moon, Phillip M. “Buck” Thornton, Jr., Robin Michelle Hill Koppen; great grandchildren, Taylor Moon, Tyler Moon, Davis Thornton, Connor Thornton, Elke Koppen, Gavin Koppen and Isabella Thornton; sisters, Doris G. Cowell and Rose G. Amato; Guythia’s family; grandchildren, Gwen Holland (Dave),Gina Holland (James), Yvette Fain (Chris); great grandchildren, Joshua, Megan Ross (Jason), William, Kelsey, Caroline; great great grandchildren, Jayla and Jaxson.

The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Don Pegg with interment to follow in Pine Hill cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:145 PM Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter, Pat, 714 Hwy 61, Whitsett, NC 27377.
