Carroll Adam Stearns III

     Carroll Adam Stearns III, age 80, passed away on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024, at his residence.

    A native of Alamance County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll Adam Stearns Jr. and Norma Stearns; his brothers, Jeffrey Stearns and Stephen Stearns; his first wife, Aleta Stearns; and his second wife, Janet Stearns. He is survived by his brother, Dale Stearns and wife, Suzie; his daughter, Kym Stearns; his daughter, Lisa Mickens and husband, Paul Card, and grandson, Ishmael Mickens; his son, Carroll Adam Stearns IV; his daughter, Madison Cheek and husband, Tanner Cheek. 

    He graduated from East Carolina University in 1966 with a bachelors in history. He worked for the National Archives History prior to joining the family business, County Ford and Stearns Ford. He loved playing the guitar, reading historical biographies, and jogging. 

    There will memorial gathering from 3:00 – 5:00 PM on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory. There will be a private service for the family at another date.
