Burlington-Carolyn Sue Foster McBride, 76, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Hospice Home. She was born in Selmer, Tennessee on June 14, 1947 to the late Oscar Dee and Pauline Loring Foster and was the wife of the late Bishop Odell McBride.
Carolyn was a member of New Life Church of God where her husband pastored for over 30 years. She enjoyed music especially singing gospel music. She was a student at ACC where she received her GED and took two years of business and later retired from Gold Toe Hosiery after 32 years of service. Carolyn was a loving and devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her son, Stephen Faircloth and wife, Jill of Burlington; six grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; brothers, James Foster of Hillsborough and Jerry Foster and wife, Huguette of Fayetteville, NC; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Faircloth and brother-in-law, Steve Lineberry. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Odell McBride; first husband, Wallace Glenn Faircloth; son, Russell Faircloth; brother, Freeman Foster; sister, Virginia Lineberry and sister-in-law, Linda Foster.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Olin Tatum and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the son, Steve’s home.
