Carolyn Lewis

Carolyn Strickland Watkins Lewis, 63, of 402 Spencer Farlow Dr. and formerly of Kimesville Rd. Liberty passed away Saturday at Duke Medical Center following a brief illness. She was the wife of Ashby Cleveland Lewis and the daughter of the late John and Bonnie Sessoms Strickland. Carolyn was a native of Sampson County a homemaker and a member of Kimesville Road Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her husband of the home, a daughter Angela Angie Holt and her husband Billy of Snow Camp, sons, Billy Franklin Frankie Watkins and his wife Tracie of Liberty, Paul Marty Watkins and his wife Mandy of Snow Camp, Joshua Josh Watkins of Liberty, a stepdaughter Donna Koeferl of Pulaski, TN, step sons, Ashby Darrell Lewis and his wife Eileen of Wade, NC, Sherrill Lynn Lewis and his wife Tami of Wade, NC, a brother Winfred Strickland and his wife Dorothy of Graham, nine grandchildren, five step grandchildren, one great grandchild and nine step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Billy Watkins and a daughter Mary Matherly. The funeral will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday November 8, 2006 at Kimesville Road Baptist Church by Rev. Jackie Franks and Rev. Steve Hall. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the home of her daughter Angie Holt, 904 Lambe Rd., Snow Camp and at the home of a son Frankie Watkins, 6475 Alamance County Line Rd., Liberty, NC.
